E-Learning
Emergency E-Learning Days eliminate the loss of instructional time during unscheduled school closures. If an Emergency E-Learning Day is necessary, it is considered a regular school attendance day and does not need to be made up at the end of the school year.
The purpose of an Emergency E-Learning Day is to continue learning opportunities for students in the event that school needs to close. Teachers and students will use the district’s 1:1 technology resources to provide students with relevant, meaningful and manageable assignments that students can engage in when school has been canceled. The goal is to minimize disruption to the academic progress caused by emergency school closures and to make emergency days as educationally productive and engaging as possible.
Fenton High School has put an E-Learning program in place that meets the requirements of the Illinois State Board of Education and was approved by the Fenton High School District Board of Education and the DuPage County Regional Office of Education.
2024-2025 E-Learning Student Procedures
In the event an E-Learning Day is utilized during the 2024-2025 school year, the following procedures will be in effect:
- Students will follow the regular bell schedule for the day while learning from home.
- Students are expected to begin virtual instruction at the time of the bell for each period. Students should log-in to the Google Classroom for the appropriate class period and join their teacher and classmates in virtual instruction by using the Google Meet link located in the upper left hand corner of the page. Students are expected to participate in all virtual learning activities and complete any work as assigned. Teachers will be available to help and assist students virtually throughout the entire class period.
- Attendance will be taken for each class.
- Bison Time: Students are expected to check in to Bison Time if an E-Learning day occurs Tuesday - Friday. Teachers will take attendance for Bison Time. Bison Time will be an opportunity to make school-wide announcements to the students. If no announcements are necessary, students will be dismissed from Bison Time after check-in.

To ensure all students have affordable options for internet service at home, Fenton has partnered with Sprint (Connect Ed), Comcast (Internet Essentials) and AT&T (AT&T Access) to provide low or no-cost options to assist our families to obtain internet service. In addition, Wifi hotspots are available in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) for checkout by students.
