Fenton Honors Veterans and Wins Essay Contest

Several students, parents and community members submitted photos for a Veterans Day tribute video that was led by Principal Jovan Lazarevic, who shared a little bit about his service. To view the video, click here or on the YouTube preview above.

Additionally, three Fenton students won an essay contest and read their “Defenders of Freedom” essays during a Veterans Day Breakfast Monday morning at the White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville. The event was co-sponsored by the Bensenville Park District and the Village of Bensenville. Fenton’s band also played at the event. All three essay winners came from Mr. Frank Kekstadt’s Military History class. As a reward for claiming all three winning spots, Superintendent James Ongtengco delivered four pizzas to Mr. Kekstadt’s class.

The first place essay contest winner was Fabian Vargas, the second place winner was Tony Huizar, and the third place winner was John Salgado.
