Update from Interim Superintendent Bentsen
Dear Fenton School Community,
We had an incredible Homecoming Week, and I especially want to celebrate how it all got started. On Saturday, September 21 we had 60 students join our Day of Service and perform valuable community service. These students split into groups and assisted with various projects at Fisher Farm, Blackhawk Middle School, Redmond Park, and a few needs here at Fenton.
Bensenville and Wood Dale have so much to offer that makes them great places to live and work. The Fenton community service requirement ensures that our students are aware of their civic duties and the value of coming together for causes greater than ourselves.
Thank you to our community partners for welcoming our students into these real world experiences, and thank you to our freshmen social studies teachers who guide our newest students through their first few hours of service. Thank you to our Interact Club, otherwise known as Junior Rotary, for making community service fun.
Homecoming 2024
The rest of Homecoming was a Disco Fever, full of impressive spirit themes and a great Tape A Teacher to the Wall fundraiser. Our soccer team was victorious 3-2 in their Pack the Stands game on Thursday, and the Marching Band fueled Bison Nation during Friday’s Pep Assembly ahead of the remarkable Cheer and Dance Force performances.

Picture Day is October 2
Student portraits for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are scheduled for Wednesday, October 2. These photos are taken during all PE classes and involve only one quick pose. Students who have PE during Zero Hour can ask for a pass during their lunch period.
The photos will be available for purchase at www.lifetouch.com/ or by asking your student to take an informational flier while at the portrait session. Fliers will also be distributed during Bison Time next week or parents can pre-order on the Lifetouch website using the event code EVTDKZJ8P.
Otherwise, these photos go into the Highlights Yearbook and are used by Fenton during various recognition programs or scholarship applications.
Photographers will be back on November 8 for picture retakes and for those who were absent during the first picture day.
Senior pictures are separate. The last call, yearbook-only photo date is October 17 during the school day.
Grand Subaru Visits Autos Class, Offers On-Site Experience
Fenton students will soon get a chance to experience “A Day in the Life of an Autos Service Professional” at the Grand Subaru car dealership in Bensenville.
Grand Subaru General Manager Ryan Drouin and his team visited Fenton’s Autos 2 class on Wednesday, September 25 to get acquainted with students and to offer the opportunity. John Francel, Director of Grand Subaru’s Service Department, shared details of what students can look forward to.
Students will rotate visiting the car dealership and spending an entire school day shadowing Subaru employees. These experiences will help Fenton students apply class lessons to real world situations and generate excitement for potentially joining the automotives career field.
Thank you Grand Subaru for this incredible partnership!
Congratulations to Stephanie Gorostieta, Kaylee Roman, And Brisa Mejia from Ms. Rieger’s Photo classes for being voted best shots of the week!
