Fenton Welcomes Dr. Michelle Hassan as New Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources

 

 

 

 

 

At its June 24, 2026 meeting, the Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Michelle Hassan as the next Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at Fenton Community High School District 100. Dr. Hassan currently serves as the Superintendent/Principal at Geff Community Consolidated School District 14. Prior to her current role, she has also served school districts in Illinois as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and interim superintendent.

 

Dozens of candidates applied for the role at Fenton, and the search process included a committee of staff members from diverse stakeholder groups working together to interview leading candidates. The search committee was impressed by how applicants demonstrated their commitment to supporting staff in ways that keep student learning at the forefront. Candidates offered compelling and creative ideas for how Human Resources can support continuous improvement in student learning while still remaining fiscally responsible with limited community resources.

 

Dr. Hassan stood out because of her wide range of professional experiences and her clear vision for how she would support the full range of Fenton staff members as a member of Fenton’s leadership team and, in turn, support our students and community. Those who have worked with Dr. Hassan highlighted her dedication to improving student learning, her ability to achieve complex and lofty goals, her belief in collaboration and her ability to foster it, her commitment to being a part of and working with the community, and her unwavering integrity. Dr. Hassan is excited to join our community and to work with colleagues and other stakeholders to support all aspects of our goals through the Human Resources lens and as part of Fenton’s leadership team.
