At Wednesday's meeting, the Fenton Community High School District 100 Board of Education recognized our summer student maintenance crew, a group that has been essential in preparing our campus for the upcoming school year. All summer long, these students were hard at work waxing floors, detailing buses, clearing classrooms for a deeper cleaning, and keeping our grounds looking great.

For more than five years, this program has offered Fenton students with unique opportunities to develop valuable workplace skills such as communication, problem solving, teamwork, professionalism, customer service, and taking pride in their work by knowing they’re serving a school community they care about. Best of all, they’re taking home a paycheck!

Each of the seniors were asked to share their plans for after high school and why they've chosen that path. This summer maintenance program is just one of many ways in which Fenton provides students with opportunities to explore careers, learn employability skills, network, and evaluate their experiences. We want all seniors to have a career plan by the time they graduate.
