At the Board of Education’s September 23, 2026, meeting, Steven Fisher was appointed to fill the vacant Board of Education position that resulted from the resignation of Cary Lewis. Mr. Fisher was appointed after being selected by the Board following interviews with a strong pool of community members who applied for the position.

Steven Fisher works professionally in information technology, specializing in cloud security and infrastructure architecture.  His work in a large corporate environment sees him collaborate with others; lead the planning, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of a wide range of projects and initiatives; and balance fiscal constraints, technical challenges, and human needs. Mr. Fisher has been active at Fenton High School and in the community for many years. With multiple children who have or currently attend Fenton, Mr. Fisher has experienced Fenton as a parent, and he has been involved in volunteering at Fenton in areas ranging from career readiness learning experiences to supporting Fenton sports as an active parent volunteer. Mr. Fisher also has had deep involvement in the community over decades as a Scoutmaster, in the Elmhurst Jaycees, and as an IHSA sports official in football and lacrosse.

Mr. Fisher’s current term will continue through the remainder of Cary Lewis’s original term, which will end in April 2027.
