Fenton High School will administer the ACT, PreACT Secure, and PreAct 9 on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 and Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Freshmen and Sophomores will take the PreACT as a way to practice and prepare for the actual ACT they will take in their junior year.  Juniors will be taking the ACT.  All Juniors must take the ACT as a state graduation requirement. The only Seniors required to be on campus during testing dates are those students who have not taken the SAT or ACT. All other Seniors may stay home and work on other assignments or complete their community service requirement.

Please see the information below regarding important information, dates, and times for testing for each grade level.

Juniors: ACT

Students only need to be present for their required testing day. Students do not need to be called out for attendance unless they are missing their testing date due to illness.

Below is more detailed information regarding what students can expect.

How can I prepare for the test?

Students are encouraged to get a good night’s sleep and have a healthy breakfast that morning.

For details about this exam, students and their families are encouraged to browse the Student Guides listed below:

Other guides and practice tests are available on the College Board website.

What time do I get to school?

This will be a regular start day with regular bus routes. It’s important to be on time. All tests will begin at 8:00 a.m. and students should report directly to their room for testing.

When will testing be finished each day?

The length of the test depends on each grade level being tested. Special bus routes will leave Fenton when students have completed testing, typically ranging between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. dismissal.

Where do I go?

Testing will occur all throughout the building. Room assignments will be emailed to students and posted at Fenton on the day of testing.

What do I bring?

All students should come prepared with a FULLY CHARGED CHROMEBOOK, and a number two pencil. A calculator is provided through the digital testing program but students may bring their own if they choose. Students should check the ACT website for approved calculators. Students may bring a snack and water bottle if they would like.
