Attendance Office:
(630) 860-4948
Portions of the information below are reprinted from from Fenton’s Student Handbook.
When
a student is absent, a parent or guardian must call the Attendance
Office at (630) 860-4948. This phone number accepts calls 24 hours per day; please leave a voice message if no one is available to answer. Calls to excuse absences will not be accepted after the day following the absence (48 hours).
Parents who have unique circumstances
calling in should contact the Attendance Office and request special
consideration. Unforeseen emergencies that make phoning impossible will
be considered on an individual basis by the student's dean, who will determine whether or not to excuse the absence.
Notes instead of phone calls will not be accepted for excusing absences
unless parents have made prior arrangements with the Attendance Office.
Student Supports
Fenton High School has systems of support to assist students who may have unique challenges. Students and/or parents can contact Maia Whalen, Fenton's Social Emotional Learning Counselor, if an ongoing situation is impacting consistent student attendance. Ms. Whalen can be reached by sending an email to
[email protected].
Attendance is Required
School attendance is compulsory under Illinois State Law. The School Code of
Illinois clearly places responsibility for student attendance upon
parents and guardians. For detailed information regarding students
absences please refer to the student handbook which is posted under the "Parents/Students" drop down tab on the Fenton website.
