Fenton Community High School Marching Band

The Fenton Community High School Marching Band has accepted an invitation to perform in the Village of Bensenville’s Independence Day Parade to be held on Thursday, July 4 at 10:00 AM.  We are very excited to be participating in this community-wide celebration.  WE NEED AND WANT YOU, the FHS alumni, current band students, and incoming students to join us for this fun and exciting day.

The community of Bensenville is sincerely looking forward to an energizing performance by the FHS Marching Bison Band, and we are sure to deliver on that expectation. This, however, will only work if we have every student participate who is able. Students who participate will receive five hours of community service for their participation OR have it count as an ensemble performance for Accelerated Symphonic Winds. In addition, we will have breakfast treats in the morning, water along the route, and some Popsicles for after the parade!

In order to be successful, we will be having a pick-up rehearsal on Wednesday, July 3 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM.  This rehearsal will occur in the Fenton High School band room and will cover music and marching.  The parade will take place on Thursday, July 4 with a call time at FHS of 8:45 AM and a step off time of around 10:00 AM.  We will need to meet at Fenton High School prior to the parade to load equipment and head over to the start.  This year, we are excited to have the expertise of Mr. Brian Collins leading our band for the parade! Thank you Mr. Collins!

We will be wearing a Fenton 4th of July Band shirt (provided), light colored shorts, and tennis shoes for the parade.  We will be performing the song Seven Nation Army and our marching cadence.  If you already have this shirt, please plan on wearing it for the parade. If you plan to participate, please fill out the form at this address: http://bit.ly/july4band.

I am looking forward to seeing and catching up with as many of you as possible for this event!  If you have any questions, please feel free to email Mr. George at georgeg@fenton100.org.
