Seniors

Deadlines and Info

The Senior Brunch will be held at White Pines on May 17th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am.  Tickets are on sale at the bookstore for $25.00 until May 10th.

Prom is this Saturday. Check in is at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm and dinner is at 7:30 pm.

Senior Chromebooks should be returned Monday through Wednesday to the Chrome Zone. All fees and fines should be paid to the bookstore by Wednesday in order to receive graduation tickets. Caps, Gowns and tickets will not be distributed to seniors who have not paid fines, fees or served their penalties.

Class of 2019 Early Exams are Monday and Tuesday. All Senior textbooks will be returned to the bookstore during lunch or study hall. 

Check your email periodically as you will be notified with important information regarding awards night and graduation.

Spring Band Concert - TONIGHT!

Tonight in the Fenton Auditorium is the annual Spring Band Concert @ 7 pm. This concert will feature our Jazz Lab Band, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, & Symphonic Wind Ensemble as well as our Senior Band Class of 2019. We will be showcasing Afro-Cuban, Rock, Swing, Latin, Cajun, Japanese, Spanish, Percussive, and American music throughout the evening.

Refreshments will be served. We hope you can join us!

Color Guard Tryouts

Color Guard is a visual representation of music that combines movement, dance, and equipment performance (flag and other equipment). This Thursday, May 9th from 4:30-7:30 will be our Color guard tryouts. Please meet in the band room.  For questions, please contact our color guard instructor Ms. Donath at chamberlynndonath@gmail.com  for questions. 



Drumline Tryouts

Thursday, May 9th, from 4:00-6:00 will be our drumline tryouts for the marching band. All interested students should pick up tryout music and come to the tryouts in the band room.  

 


Cheer Tryouts

2019 Fenton HS Cheer Tryouts are May 13 - 17, from 4-6pm. Tryouts will be held in Gym 3. Wear comfy clothes and gym shoes.

 


The Bensenville Spring Carnival is around the corner

The location has changed from previous carnivals. The Bensenville Community Spring Carnival will take place Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19, in the parking lot area of the Deer Grove Leisure Center located at 1000 W. Wood Street.

Times:

Thursday, May 16  |  3:30-10pm
Friday, May 17  |  3:30-11pm
Saturday, May 18  |  Noon-11pm
Sunday, May 19  |  12:30-8pm*
*May 19  |  10am-12:30pm Free, exclusive time for children and adults with disabilities and their families.

This annual fund-raiser will benefit Bensenville schools and community outreach programs, and will feature hours of entertainment for all ages, as well as provide exclusive time for children and adults with disabilities and their families. 

Parking for carnival will be available at Fenton High School (except during Fenton Graduation) and Blackhawk Middle School. During the Spring Carnival, street parking on S. Franzen Street and Ridgewood Avenue between Wood and Grove Streets will not be available.

There are “Mega Passes” for sale at the bookstore through Friday, May 10, 2019, for $50.00 cash or check only. This pass is good for unlimited rides during the entire Carnival.


 

Food for Families

Tuesday May 28 is Food for Families at Fenton from 4-6pm. If your family is experiencing food insecurity - come to Fenton and NIFB will be supplying perishable and non-perishable foods.


Yearbook Distribution

Yearbook distribution will take place on May 9th and 10th in the cafeteria during all lunches. Please make sure to bring your school ID at the time of pickup. Any unclaimed books (or potentially unpurchased books) will go to the bookstore immediately after distribution on the 10th of May.

Fenton Garden

REBUILD DATE CHANGED:  Help rebuild the Fenton garden on Saturday, 5/11/19 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm email (Community Service will be earned!) the following staff if interested: Mrs. Krygier, Mrs. Lemm, Mrs. Suwanski, Mrs. Wisnewski or Mr. Sanchez


Fenton School Counselors present at IACAC

Last week, Fenton school counselors Sarah McDougal and Paul Welsh presented at the annual conference of the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC). Ms. McDougal and Mr. Welsh taught colleagues from across the state about the importance of visiting colleges to learn first-hand about the opportunities these schools offer Fenton students. In addition, Mr. Welsh was elected by the membership to serve on IACAC's Executive Board. In this role, Mr. Welsh will represent Illinois counselors as a delegate to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). This three-year position gives Fenton a voice in shaping national policy about college admission standards and practices.  Congratulations Ms. McDougal and Mr. Welsh!


Nurse Notes

Moses E. Cheeks Slam Dunk for Diabetes Basketball Camp is for children and young adults ages 5-18 years old who have been medically diagnosed with diabetes and prediabetes. Please submit your application
by June 1, 2019 as space is limited to 75 participants per session. Wheaton Camp Dates are June 24 - 26th. Camp Brochure 
  


Note from the Registrar

If your student will be withdrawing/transferring out of Fenton High school at the end of this school year, please contact Beth Damascus, Registrar, at 630-860-4794 as soon as possible.  Notice must be given at least 48 hours (on school days) prior to the date of withdrawal in order to obtain documents that the student will need to enroll at his/her new school. For more information about withdrawals visit the webpage.  


Summer Semester COD/ESL Classes

Free English and Citizenship Classes at Fenton and the Bensenville Community Library begin soon.

The first testing day is on 5/29/19 and the last day to enroll is 6/10/19.

2019 DuPage County Trade & Apprenticeship Expo

The 2019 DuPage County Trade & Apprenticeship Expo will take place on May 30th from 3:30 - 6:30pm at IBEW Local 701 Union Hall in Warrenville, IL.  Visit this link for more details. 

This event will feature interactive demonstrations, putting YOU in the driver’s seat as you participate in hands-on construction activities. You will also have the opportunity to meet with instructors from each individual trade organization where you’ll learn about each apprenticeship program, including the application process, wages and benefits.
