J. B. Bruederle - Class of 1978
Dr. Bruederle is a co-owner and the managing veterinarian of the Burnham Park Animal Hospital. An expert in exotic animals, he founded Midwest Exotic Pet Seminars to educate veterinarians on the most recent medical and surgical treatment for exotic pets. Dr. Bruederle serves as the official veterinarian at the White Sox's Pet Day games.
Dr. Bruederle is active in many professional organizations, including the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, through which he serves as a mentor to students at the University of Illinois to help them through their four-year veterinary medicine program. During his tenure as president of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, he appeared on numerous television programs to discuss veterinary issues.
Raymond J. McKoski - Class of 1965
Raymond J. McKoski began his judicial career in 1985 when he was appointed an Associate Judge. He became a Circuit Judge in 1991. He has presided over all types of cases including medical malpractice, multimillion dollar contract actions and death penalty cases.
Off the bench, Judge McKoski has two focuses. First, he has been active in judicial ethics. He has taught ethics to other judges, coauthored a chapter in the Illinois Judges Manual on judicial ethics, and, since 1994, has served as vice-chair of the Illinois Ethics Committee. His second focus is on educating the public, especially students, about the legal system and the dangers of drugs and gangs. He has spoken at nearly 100 schools educating students at the kindergarten through college level. He has established a law explorers post and law merit badge for scouts.
