For the benefit of students and parents looking at the costs of higher education, Fenton’s guidance department has compiled a list of scholarships that are available for graduating seniors.

Scholarship Opportunities


Scholarship Name: KFC Colonel's Scholars Program
Scholarship Type: National
Due date: 02/10/09 (available 12/01/08)
Amount: Up to $5,000/year for 4 years

Criteria
: Must be a current high school senior; must have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75; must plan to enroll in a public, in-state university in the fall of 2009; must be pursuing a bachelor's degree; must be a US citizen of legal residence; financial need.

Criteria

Criteria
: Must be current high school senior; must plan to enter a two- or four-year college in the fall of 2009; must be a legal US resident. There are four scholarships offered; students must meet additional criteria. For the RMHC/ASIA, the applicant must have at least one parent of Asian/Pacific-Islander heritage. For the RMHC/African American Future Achievers, the applicant must have at least one parent of African American or Black Caribbean heritage. For the RMHC/HACER, the applicant must have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage. Finally, for the RMHC Scholars, any student can apply regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
