Attendance

The Media Center is maintained as a quiet study area intended for educational reading, research and use of library materials.

Students wishing to use the Media Center during their study hall have several options:

  • National Honor Society students can use their I.D. cards as a pass at any time

  • Ask for a pass from a current academic (not study hall) teacher. The pass should list the specific work to be completed in the media center.

  • Sign up in study hall the day before.

  • Students may use the Media Center during lunch.

Rules

All rules in the student handbook apply. In addition:

  • Drinking and eating, except water, are not permitted.

  • Students wishing to complete group work or tutor another student should obtain prior permission from a Media Center Staff person.

Checkout Limits

A valid Fenton High School I.D. card is required to check out materials.

  • Books - 14 days

  • Pamphlets - 7 days

  • Non-print material - overnight

  • Reference books - overnight

  • Magazines - Current issue: Media Center use only, back issues: 7 days

  • Headphones - period only

  • Technology Hardware - overnight with signed letters of permission from parents and teacher

Fines

  • Books and pamphlets - 5 cents per school day per item

  • Technology hardware - $5.00 per class period; 1 month loss of equipment check-out privileges for each day it is late

  • Reference and non-print material - $1.00 per day per item
